About
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Material Handler to join our dynamic team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for the movement, tracking, and organization of materials within our warehouse. Your primary focus will be ensuring that all products are handled efficiently and safely, from receiving to dispatch. This position is crucial to our overall logistics operations and requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining a well-organized workspace. You will work closely with other warehouse staff and supervisors to fulfill orders accurately and on time.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move goods.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Scan and record inventory movement using warehouse management systems.
- Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Inspect equipment for defects and report any issues immediately.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, especially regarding safety and the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the logistics team.
- This role involves significant manual lifting, up to 50 lbs, so physical stamina is required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a material handler or in a warehouse environment is preferred.
- Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Excellent physical condition with the ability to perform repetitive lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory control principles.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- A strong commitment to a safe working environment is paramount.
