About
Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, seeks an experienced Crypto Embedded Software Engineer for the Secure Processing Software team in El Segundo, California. This onsite role requires a U.S. citizen and a transferable Secret clearance.
What You Will Do
Architecture, design, development, integration, and testing of embedded software for a network security appliance, including device management software, communication protocols, device drivers, and control‑plane security features.
Collaborate with software engineers to ensure implementations meet product requirements.
Socialize designs and integrate feedback; unit‑test components for module functionality and data consistency.
Participate in design and implementation/code reviews.
Document designs and create project documentation in support of contract deliverables (development plans, specifications, test docs).
Independently manage time and prioritize tasks to meet cost and schedule constraints.
Qualifications You Must Have
Proven experience in large, complex software/hardware development.
STEM degree with minimum 8 years relevant experience or an advanced degree with 5 years experience.
Active Secret U.S. government‑issued clearance prior to start.
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with high‑level programming languages (Rust, C/C++, Python) and hardware‑software integration in real‑time embedded systems.
Crypto algorithm experience.
Knowledge of network security protocols (TLS, SSL, OpenSSL, X.509, etc.).
Experience with Key Management Infrastructure (KMI‑3300) and OTNK, and SysML/UML modeling tools.
Control‑plane implementation for Ethernet‑based network appliances.
Experience developing in Amazon Web Service virtual environments.

Additional Information Role type: Onsite – Employees working onsite will primarily be based at El Segundo, CA. This position is U.S.‑based. Salary range: $112,000 – $224,000 USD.
