divh2EHS QA Coordinator/h2pSOUTH BAY SANDBLASTING TANK CLEANING, INC. shipyard related subcontractor seeking a detail-oriented EHS QA Coordinator to support our Navy Operations in Norfolk Virginia./ppJob Summary/ppWere seeking an EHS QA Coordinator with commitment to build and maintain a Safety Culture Engagement between workers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading programs that protect people from environmental hazards and workplace hazards, while maintaining QA processes and procedures. Candidate can work in confined spaces and has no problem working long hours and weekends./ppMust be in Norfolk Virginia, we are not looking to relocate candidates at this time./ppResponsibilities:/pulliAssist in implementing and maintain QA processes and procedures/liliCoordinate QA inspections and testing/liliMaintain QA records, reports, and certifications/liliSupport non-conforming material tracking and corrective actions/liliParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives/li/ulpEHS 40%/pulliAssist in implementing and maintaining EHS processes and procedures/liliCoordinate EHS inspections/liliMaintain EHS records, reports and certifications/liliParticipate in incident investigations and root cause analysis/liliAccomplish regular walkthroughs with production to ensure compliance/li/ulpAdministrative 20%/pulliProvide administrative support in EHS and QA teams/liliMaintain filing system, both physical and digital/liliAssist in document control and revision management/liliTrain employees and enforce requirements/li/ulpQualifications:/pulliStrong knowledge of health and safety best practices and legal requirements/liliAbility to effectively communicate with all levels of the workforce and management/liliStrong organizational skills and the ability to work to a timeline and meet deadlines/liliFamiliarity with ISO 9001/liliStrong verbal and written communication skills/liliTwo years of previous experience in EHS, QA, or related field/liliComputer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point/li/ulpEducation Requirements:/pulliHigh school diploma or GED, B.A., Technical/Vocational trade school, or apprenticeship (Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or Occupational Safety)/liliMust be certified HAZWOPER, DOT Hazardous Materials, and RCRA Certified./li/ulpWorking Conditions and Physical Demands:/ppWork is conducted indoors and outdoors frequently exposed to prevailing weather conditions. Work indoor or aboard vessel which may have fumes, chemicals, and heat as well as noise and dust present depending upon the location of work. Safety equipment required./ppThe individual must be able to frequently climb inclined stairways and vertical. Work aboard the vessels can be strenuous and sometimes hazardous. Dynamic, fast-paced outdoor setting with moderate to loud noise levels from production activity in the shipyard. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
