The mission of Communities In Schools (CIS) is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
Position Summary: The Site Coordinator is responsible for building relationships with students, families, school staff and community partners to effectively develop and implement a school support plan at a CIS NOVA partner school.
The Site Coordinator will use an integrated student support approach to provide school wide resources as well as targeted group and individual supports to identified students. Types of student supports include: academic assistance, addressing basic needs, mentoring and career/college readiness programming as well as family engagement.
The Site Coordinator reports to the CIS NOVA Program Manager and works closely with school leadership. This is a full time school based position. CIS NOVA follows school district guidelines, so that Site Coordinators are in school when students are based in school and will follow guidelines should conditions change.

Responsibilities: (May not include all duties performed)
● Implement and monitor annual school site plan in partnership with the school administration - collaborating with other school staff, volunteers and community partners. Implement supports and strategies to address identified needs with measurable goals.
● Provide one on one targeted support to identified students.
● Implement strategies to re engage and maintain student and family engagement, leading to positive student outcomes.
● Participate in interdisciplinary meetings with school staff and other resource providers to effectively utilize existing resources and address gaps in services.
● Provide advocacy for students and families. Share community resources addressing basic needs, financial services available to eliminate barriers to success.
● Leverage data collection and seek stakeholder feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of services in achieving school-wide goals and addressing the needs of individual students. Document progress and student outcomes.
● Actively support school orientations, open houses, and family events.
● Carry out other duties as assigned by CIS NOVA Director.

Possess strong verbal, written, and presentation skills;
Bachelor Degree in the areas of social service, education, youth development, or related field;
Knowledge of community and school-based service practices;
Ability to work both independently and in collaborative team settings;
Ability to mediate conflict and stressful situations;
Excellent coordination and time management skills;
Proficiency in standard computer applications and social media;
Valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation and vehicle insurance.
