SMBC Americas Division is seeking a
Senior Developer
to join our newly formed Agile Product team within the Business Intelligence & Strategic Data department. This role will focus on building a robust ESG Sustainability Data Platform using Microsoft Power Platform, Azure, and other modern technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in software development principles and experience building scalable, secure, and user-friendly solutions. Role Objectives: Delivery Design and develop custom solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and SharePoint Online. Build reusable components and ensure adherence to DRY principles, entity modeling, and SDLC best practices. Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate ESG requirements into technical solutions. Integrate with external systems and data sources, including Azure services and SQL databases. Support data governance, quality assurance, and interoperability with Tokyo Head Office systems. Mentor junior developers and contribute to Agile ceremonies and sprint planning. Ensure regulatory readiness and compliance through robust system design.
Qualifications and Skills
10+ years of software development experience, including 5+ years with Microsoft Power Platform. Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals: entity management, data modeling, design patterns. Experience with C#, Azure, and SharePoint Online. Familiarity with Agile methodologies, JIRA, and SDLC processes. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality solutions under tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft Power Platform certifications (Developer, Functional Consultant, Solution Architect). Experience in ESG, compliance, or financial services domains. Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS/GCP a plus). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
