The Miami HEAT are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Data Analytics Intern to join the Strategy & Data Analytics team and assist the organization in making data-driven decisions. Responsibilities will include building new and unique solutions for business-related goals and challenges, supporting and identifying new or better ways to improve our data reporting platform, and monitoring the health of that platform.
This internship will also be a part of the Miami HEAT’s Summer Internship program where you will work with a team of other interns on a summer-long project competing against your peers.
Required Qualifications
Knowledge of data visualization, modeling, and database structure and design. Pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Business Intelligence, or another business and/or quantitative technical field. Ability to interpret and communicate analysis with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Curiosity and passion for working with data, and the ability to work both with a team and independently. Preferred Qualifications
Experience querying data using SQL and working with relational databases Experience performing statistical analysis on data using Python and/or R Experience with a data visualization tool (Power BI preferred) Previous projects that showcase any skills relevant to the position
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be enrolled in college or university and be available to work from June 8 to August 7.
