Veterinary Assistant/Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing high-quality care to animals. You will be responsible for assisting with various tasks related to animal care, ensuring a safe and clean environment, and providing excellent customer service to pet owners. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal welfare and possess relevant skills in veterinary practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of animals.
• Perform routine tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medications, and preparing animals for surgery.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilization of instruments and cleaning examination rooms.
• Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations or treatments.
• Provide pet care advice to clients regarding nutrition, grooming, and general health.
• Manage laboratory samples for testing, including blood work and urinalysis.
• Utilize veterinary terminology effectively when communicating with team members and clients.
• Assist in dental procedures by preparing equipment and educating clients on dental care for pets.
• Support the veterinary team in emergency situations by demonstrating knowledge of veterinary critical care protocols.
• Some receptionist duties will be included.
