We are seeking a highly skilled Material Handler for our dynamic logistics facility in San Francisco, California. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and safe movement of materials throughout our operations. You will be responsible for operating forklifts and other equipment, managing inventory, and supporting our shipping and receiving departments. A strong focus on safety and operational excellence is essential for success in this fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Transport materials to and from various departments and storage areas.
- Assist with receiving, stocking, and put-away of inventory.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Follow all logistics procedures and company policies, including the mandated use of PPE.
- Perform tasks involving significant manual lifting and physical exertion.
- Support inventory control through accurate movements and cycle counts.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification required.
- Proficiency in operating a variety of warehouse equipment.
- Solid understanding of warehouse safety standards and best practices.
- Ability to perform manual labor, including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with logistics operations and inventory management systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts and occasional overtime.
