The Application Analyst II – Epic is responsible for the design, configuration, testing, and support of the Epic Ambulatory application. This individual serves as a liaison between end users and technical teams, ensuring that system functionality supports clinical and operational workflows. The Application Analyst II is expected to work independently on moderately complex projects and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
QualificationsEducation Required:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience OR
- Associate's degree with 2 years of healthcare or healthcare IT experience
Licenses/Certifications Required:
- Epic Ambulatory certification with 3+ years of Epic application support (current/active)
Work Experience Required:
- 3+ years of direct Epic application experience.

- 5+ years of direct Epic application experience.

- Lead the design and build of Epic applications by owning project tasks, guiding team members, and ensuring alignment across integrated areas to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Participate in the design and build of Epic applications, including integrated areas.
- Independently research and configure systems to improve processes, add efficiencies, and promote patient safety.
- Collaborate with operations and application team members to optimize workflows and application capabilities.
- Ability to identify change impact of owned and non-owed Epic applications and integrated areas related to technology, patient safety, data integrity/ compliance, and finance.
- Utilize external resources and best practices to inform build decisions.
- Build data fields, screens, templates, and customer-defined functionality as required.
- Conduct thorough reviews of Foundation Build and operational content for Epic applications.
- Participate in unit, application, and integrated testing for implementations, upgrades, and enhancements.
- Review proposed training curriculum for Epic applications in collaboration with the application team.
- Follow Epic applications build standards and maintain synchronization between environments in coordination with the environment team.
- Provide go-live and post-go-live support for new Epic applications and functionality.
- Participate in on-call rotation to support Epic application users.
- Represent Epic applications in Integrated Area Workgroups.
- Support continuous documentation of system modifications and updates for Epic applications.
- Demonstrate general knowledge of the systems development life cycle and apply appropriate methods to support ongoing maintenance for Epic applications.
- Maintain detailed and ongoing communication with customers (end users or operational owners) through ticketing systems.
- Ensure all assigned Epic incident, catalog, and enhancement tickets include clear resolution details.
- Contact customers (end users or operational owners) directly regarding ticket resolution or if requests cannot be fulfilled.
- Log decisions, issues, and risks in trackers (e.g., Orion, Nova) during Epic applications build and upgrade cycles.
- Support Epic applications governance by contributing to business case development.
- Maintain version control of workflows, issue/risk logs, and decision trackers for assigned work.
- Escalate issues appropriately and communicate with higher-level analysts and supervisors.
- Assist in managing small-scale projects and tasks using project management principles.
- Recommend areas for process improvement based on observations and feedback.
- Assist in the development of future state documentation and materials.
- Follow established processes for issue tracking, resolution, and closure.
- Adhere to change control procedures for all system modifications.
- Develop test scripts for new systems and upgrades, ensuring compliance with versioning and documentation standards.
- Demonstrate strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- General schedule: Monday–Friday, Eastern Time business hours with some flexibility.
- Other scheduling requirements: Participates in an on-call rotation to support application needs. May occasionally be required to work outside standard hours for special events or staff coverage.
- Office Environment: Tasks may be conducted within a climate-controlled office setting.
- Physical Activity: The role may require the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials, supplies, and equipment (up to 15 lbs.) Duties typically involve a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, with frequent changes in position.
- Travel: Travel may be required, including travel between Company locations and out-oftown destinations as needed for go-live support, training or other business needs (up to 15%).
