Summary of Position

This position is responsible for serving food and beverages to guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner. Adheres to all health regulations and local liquor laws. According to function specifications, sets up, maintains, and takes down banquet rooms after service/event has concluded. Ensures exceptional guest service and creates an inviting atmosphere. Follows company and brand standards of quality to ensure guest satisfaction.
Also responsible for preparing event spaces for banquets, meetings, weddings, and other special events. This role ensures that all furniture, decorations, and equipment are properly arranged according to client specifications, ensuring that each event runs smoothly.

  • Produces required volume of work by planning, organizing and prioritizing work duties.
  • Attends all required department meetings.
  • Works collaboratively with others
  • Assists bartenders and works as a team player to ensure all guest needs are met.
  • Completes all assigned duties within or outside the normal scope of responsibilities.
  • Completes all required side work and takes initiative to assist wherever necessary.
  • Actively contributes to the success of the guest experience.
  • Complies with company, department & brand standards
  • Completes training as required by company, property and brand.
  • Maintains a clean and neat appearance at all times. A complete uniform (or business attire for non-uniformed associates) must be worn at all times in public areas, including a name tag.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours/schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Set up tables, chairs, linens, glassware, silverware, and other necessary items according to event diagrams or instructions.
  • Arrange staging, audio-visual equipment, and any additional banquet equipment as needed.
  • Ensure that banquet areas are clean, organized, and presentable prior to and during events.
  • Tear down and clean up after events, including disassembling tables, chairs, and equipment, and restoring the banquet area to its original state.
  • Collaborate with banquet captains, catering staff, and event coordinators to ensure seamless service.
  • Maintain an inventory of banquet equipment and supplies, reporting any shortages or maintenance issues.
  • Follow safety guidelines and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Assist with any additional tasks required for event preparation and breakdown.
  • Basic knowledge of event set-up and room layouts.
  • Any other duties that are required at the direction of the supervisor.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job the associate is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or lift items as well as operate a computer. They are also required to talk or hear. The associate is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The associate is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The associate is occasionally required to lift up to 40 pounds, in some cases exceeding 40 pounds. The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications and/or Experience

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • High School Education or Equivalent is Required.
  • Experience with banquet setup preferred.

  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in setting up tables, chairs, decorations, and audio-visual equipment according to event specifications.
