In this role you will operate and maintain a CNC machining line to perform multiple ID and OD machining functions on metal work pieces. You will produce precision parts applying knowledge of machining procedures to meet the customer's expectations and Amsted Rail procedures and standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following essential functions satisfactorily:

• Adhere to plant-wide safety, ergonomics and environmental requirements, defined by Amsted Rail; outlined by the Amsted Rail Health & Safety program.
• Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures on machines, using hand tools and gauges.
• Remove and replace worn or broken cutting tools.
• Verify alignment using measurement instructions.
• Select program into machine control units to start operation.
• Adjust tooling monitoring systems, change cutting tools, or adjust machine controls when automatic programming is faulty, if machines malfunction or parts fall out of conformance.
• Perform machine set-ups using knowledge of job requirements and materials used to enter control panel settings for tool travel, axis movement and tool speeds.
