Position Overview
Optalis of Whitehall is seeking an Activities Lead to support and strengthen our Activities department. This role provides day-to-day leadership, structure, and consistency within the program while working closely with the Activities Director to ensure meaningful, engaging experiences for our residents.
The Activities Lead serves as a point person during weekday hours, helping coordinate programming, support staff, and maintain continuity of care and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with planning, coordinating, and leading daily resident activities
  • Support implementation of the monthly activities calendar in collaboration with the Activities Director
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and support to activities staff during weekday hours
  • Help ensure activities are engaging, inclusive, and aligned with resident interests
  • Assist with preparing activity spaces, supplies, and materials
  • Support documentation, attendance tracking, and general program organization
  • Collaborate with nursing and other departments to support resident engagement and daily flow
  • May assist with non-clinical support tasks as needed , such as:
    • Helping pass meal trays
    • Escorting residents to and from activities
    • Providing general support during special events or programs
This role is primarily focused on resident engagement and activities support. Non-clinical assistance may be provided as needed and does not include hands-on nursing care, medication administration, or clinical responsibilities.
Schedule
  • Part Time: Rotational weekends and holidays
  • Hours: 4:00PM – 8:00 PM

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in activities, recreation, senior living, or a related field preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Compassionate, energetic, and resident-focused approach
  • Reliable attendance and professionalism
