Job Overview
Join our closeknit team as a Telecommunications Tower Technician, where your expertise will help build, maintain, and upgrade critical communication infrastructure across diverse locations. This role involves extensive travel to various sites primarily in the Texas Panhandle, Colorado, and Northeastern New Mexico. On occasion, you may also work at locations in North and Central Texas, and Oklahoma. Employees who reside away from our company's main bases in Amarillo, TX and the Denver, CO area generally work a six-weeks away, one week off schedule in order to spend time at home. Our company also takes an extended break during the year-end Holidays. This position includes remote and challenging environments and diverse weather conditions, to ensure the reliability and safety of telecommunications networks. You will primarily focus on microwave and LMR systems, working on high and low voltage systems, fiber splicing, and tower construction.

Duties
- Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications towers and related equipment across multiple locations.
- Conduct climbing operations using safety harnesses, bucket trucks, and rigging techniques to access elevated sites safely.
- Execute fiber splicing and cabling tasks to ensure optimal data transmission and network performance.
- Operate manlift and other heavy equipment for tower access, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Install and troubleshoot LMR and microwave wireless infrastructure components including antennas and radios.
- Manage high voltage and low voltage electrical systems with precision while adhering to safety standards.
- Engage in field service activities such as site inspections, troubleshooting network issues, and documenting work performed.
- Assist in rigging operations for equipment lifting and securement during installation or maintenance tasks.
- Follow all safety procedures rigorously to prevent accidents during climbing or heavy equipment operation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working on telecommunications towers or similar high-altitude structures with a strong focus on safety.
- Knowledge of high voltage electrical systems, fiber splicing, cabling, and telecommunication equipment installation.
- Ability to climb towers confidently using appropriate safety gear; experience with bucket operation is essential.
- Familiarity LMR and microwave system installation and troubleshooting techniques.
- Skilled in rigging, and structural modifications related to tower construction or repair.
- Strong understanding of field service operations within the telecommunication industry.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to operate bucket trucks and other heavy machinery safely.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to safety compliance. Pay: $ $25.00 per hour
