Role Overview
The Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives to procure materials and services at the lowest total cost of ownership while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, delivery, and supplier performance. This role plays a critical part in supporting daily operations by driving cost reductions, supplier optimization, contract compliance, and continuous improvement across procurement activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to achieve cost reduction, supplier consolidation, quality improvements, and process efficiencies.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable commercial terms aligned with company standards and core procurement values (safety, quality, cost, delivery, morale).
- Manage non-strategic material and service purchase requests by validating specifications and determining the appropriate sourcing method (RFI, RFQ, RFP).
- Lead and administer RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs, including supplier evaluation and cost-effective agreement negotiation.
- Partner with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and Legal Counsel to negotiate contractual terms and conditions that reduce business risk.
- Ensure contracts are negotiated, finalized, executed, and amended as required, including coordination of contract change requests.
- Collaborate with Supplier Quality, Supplier Performance, Strategic Sourcing, and business partners to develop suppliers, improve effectiveness, and drive continuous cost improvements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by developing sourcing frameworks, metrics, and best practices to enhance procurement excellence.
- Utilize market intelligence, portfolio analysis, and competitive data to manage contracts and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure delivery of high-quality products and services on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Proactively manage contracts through full execution, monitoring spend, expiration dates, and compliance with commercial, legal, and company policies.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company processes, policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Perform additional non-essential duties as assigned to support business needs.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, including RFQ and RFP development and execution.
- Knowledge of business law, commercial terms and conditions, and contract-related legal considerations.
- Proven negotiation skills within competitive sourcing environments.
- Ability to guide the evolution of sourcing management processes, develop performance metrics, and engage suppliers on operational, strategic, and financial matters.
- Advanced stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to deliver strong customer service and resolve issues efficiently.
- Ability to analyze drawings, scopes of work, and Statements of Work (SOWs) to develop and align sourcing packages and contracts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong analytical and supplier management capabilities.
- Demonstrated experience creating, analyzing, negotiating, and editing contracts in alignment with company standards and business partner interests.
