About

Summary:

The Facilities Manager is responsible for the overall maintenance of company facilities and properties, and the security of stakeholders in assigned locations. This includes managing all standard operating procedures related to facilities and maintenance, supervises facility and maintenance department stakeholders, and supervising the usage of facilities supplies and equipment. The facilities manager will coordinate with the company safety director and other department management to ensure compliance with all safety, health and environmental regulations.

Essential Functions (must be able to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation):

  • Directs daily maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds and associated equipment under the direction of the director of facilities.
  • Supervises department stakeholders, assists in interviews, onboarding, training, check-ins, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Works with Director of Facilities and Maintenance to coordinator with external service providers and contractors that install, inspect, repair and maintain building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety and waste management.
  • Responds to the needs and requests of remote warehouses and management inquiries in a timely manner provides documented update reports to director of facilities.
  • Tracks facilities service requests and ensure that requests are completed within established timelines and quality standards.
  • Works with all departments to ensure that our facilities and grounds help the company meet or exceed internal and external customer expectations.
  • Remains current with all equipment and/or software necessary to manage the facility and schedule employees.
  • Ensures all assigned facility equipment and maintenance is completed to maintain operations.
  • Facilitates projects assigned by the director of facilities and/or VP OPS.
  • Responds to and coordinate with director of facilities regarding other duties as requested

Qualifications:

  • 3 – 5 years of supervisory experience in building construction, maintenance, or repair work; or a combination of training, education and experience equivalent to the above requirement that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
  • Possession of a valid NYS Driver's License.
  • Will successfully complete OSHA training certifications including but not limited to forklift training certification training.
  • Knowledge of operations and activities of a facilities maintenance program; principles and practices of employee supervision, training, and performance evaluation; construction methods and practices; tools, materials, methods, and procedures used in building maintenance and repair; basic purchasing methods and practices; Federal, State, and local laws, ordinances, and regulations pertaining to the building industry and safety practices; basic math to determine materials used and estimate the cost of projects.
  • Ability to: supervise staff, assign, review, and evaluate work; read and interpret blueprints and drawings; prepare work sketches; read and understand company and departmental policies and procedures; maintain records of building maintenance and repairs; prepare simple memos using correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling; organize work and set priorities to meet deadlines; establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, vendors, and other company employees.
  • Knowledge of contract terms and practices used in administering contracts for services, inventory methods used to track materials used, and on hand personal computer applications such as electronic mail, word processing, and databases.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen, to stand; walk; use shoulder to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms, to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be cleared to lift 50 lbs. and/or move up to 165 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, and color vision.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, common internal combustion fumes consistent with normal traffic situations, ambient and refrigerated warehouse air, airborne particles consistent with normal ambient and outdoor conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions for extended periods of time and occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
