Senior/Principal Platform Systems Mechanical Engineer

Location: Barrow-in-Furness (Full-time on-site presence required)

As a key player in our Mechanical Platform Systems team, you will:

• Develop Design Evidence: Create a robust package of design evidence to ensure safety and effectiveness, instilling confidence in our customers.
• Prototype Development: Specify and assist in building prototypes, products, and systems ready for testing.
• Issue Resolution: Provide timely corrective actions for all assigned defects and issues.
• Commitment Management: Ensure that commitments are agreed upon, reviewed, and met.
• Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior engineers on technical matters.
• Effective Presentations: Present technical information to both technical and management audiences, staying updated on novel concepts and markets.
• Technical Documentation: Author and co-author technical reports, papers, articles, patents, and presentations as needed.

We’re looking for candidates who possess:

• Educational Background: A degree in Engineering, Mechanical, or Science subjects.
• Documentation Skills: Ability to create and present design documentation to customers and wider groups.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Proficiency in solving complex engineering calculations.
• Technical Proficiency: Experience with CAD, MS Office, and comfort with other IT applications.
