Senior/Principal Platform Systems Mechanical Engineer

Location: Barrow-in-Furness (Full-time on-site presence required)

As a key player in our Mechanical Platform Systems team, you will:

• Develop Design Evidence: Create a robust package of design evidence to ensure safety and effectiveness, boosting customer confidence in our solutions.
• Prototype Development: Specify and assist in building prototypes, products, and systems ready for testing.
• Issue Resolution: Provide timely corrective actions on all assigned defects and issues.
• Commitment Management: Ensure that commitments are agreed upon, reviewed, and met.
• Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior engineers on technical matters.
• Effective Presentations: Present complex ideas to both technical and management audiences, staying updated on novel concepts and markets.
• Technical Writing: Author and co-author technical reports, papers, articles, patents, and presentations as needed.

We’re looking for someone who has:

• A degree in Engineering, Mechanical, or Science subjects.
• The ability to create and present design documentation to customers and wider groups.
• Strong problem-solving skills for complex engineering calculations.
• Proficiency in CAD, MS Office, and comfort with other IT applications.
