About

The Software Engineer II develops and maintains code within applications and systems to implement features, improve performance and maintainability, while reducing technical debt in alignment with product and technology roadmaps. The position emphasizes strong software craftsmanship, AI-assisted development, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Job Responsibilities :
  • Strengthen and apply software engineering skills, tools, and methodologies, including the responsible use of AI-assisted development.
  • Contribute effectively to coding tasks by implementing features, writing unit and integration tests, pairing with teammates, and using AI tools to support code generation and troubleshooting.
  • Translate business and functional requirements into clear, actionable technical tasks and participate meaningfully in sprint planning and estimation.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to automate manual or repetitive workflows using both AI-enabled and traditional engineering tools.
  • Diagnose and resolve defects using structured debugging techniques supported by AI-guided root-cause analysis.
  • Support modernization initiatives by updating legacy code, contributing to migration activities, and using AI tools to analyze and improve older patterns.
  • Apply secure coding practices and leverage AI-assisted code analysis to detect vulnerabilities, quality gaps, and performance issues.
  • Investigate performance or system bottlenecks through diagnostics, testing, and AI-supported evaluation.
  • Participate in performance testing and contribute to resolving issues identified through analytical and AI-driven reviews.
  • Produce clear, consistent documentation of processes, patterns, and best practices, using AI tools appropriately to enhance clarity and team knowledge sharing.

Required Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 2 years of experience in a related field, or equivalent combinations such as a master's degree and up to 2 years of experience.
  • Basic experience with Java, Python, JavaScript
  • Basic understanding of distributed systems concepts and how failures can
  • occur.
  • Exposure to automation, developer tools, or internal platforms (coursework, internships, or projects acceptable).
  • Familiarity with Git/version control and awareness of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Foundational knowledge of cloud services (AWS preferred; Azure a plus).
  • Interest in or exposure to AI-assisted development tools and practices.
  • Ability to participate in debugging, incident follow-up, and basic observability activities with guidance.
  • Awareness of reliability engineering principles and automated testing practices.
  • Basic understanding of monitoring, logging, and alerting concepts.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within an engineering team.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, problem-solving ability, and willingness to learn new technologies and best practices.
  • Exposure to embedded systems, GPIO, sensors, or low-power electronics is a plus

USD 89,400.00 - 134,000.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $89,400.00 - $134,000.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
