We are looking for a skilled Material Handler to join our sophisticated logistics operation in New York City, New York. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the efficient movement, storage, and tracking of materials within our warehouse. Your duties will include loading and unloading shipments, operating specialized equipment, and ensuring inventory accuracy. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse processes and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment. The role involves significant physical activity, including Lifting and maneuvering of various materials. Adherence to strict Safety guidelines and the correct use of PPE are non-negotiable. As a Material Handler, you are essential to the seamless functioning of our entire supply chain and Logistics network. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and shipping containers.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other powered industrial equipment safely and efficiently.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
- Assist with inventory control, including cycle counting and stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, and wear appropriate PPE .
- Identify and report any damaged materials or equipment malfunctions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role, with forklift certification.
- Ability to perform heavy Lifting , up to 70 lbs.
- Proficiency in operating various types of warehouse equipment.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and Logistics .
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of workplace Safety .
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
