About
About Tin Can
At Tin Can, we're giving kids the freedom and social independence we had growing up - without smartphones. We build thoughtfully designed products that help families stay connected while protecting childhood. We're a growing, VC-backed team with strong product-market fit and big ambitions ahead.
As we scale, we're looking for a Contract Recruiter to help us hire exceptional talent who are excited to build products with real-world impact.
The Role
This is a hands-on, end-to-end recruiting role responsible for owning the full hiring lifecycle for all positions across Tin Can. You'll partner closely with hiring managers to understand needs, source and engage candidates, manage interview processes, and close hires while delivering a thoughtful, candidate-first experience.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-moving startup environments and is comfortable with ambiguity.
What You'll Do
- Own full-cycle recruiting for all roles - from Customer Experience to Software Engineers and beyond
- Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements and ideal candidate profiles
- Proactively source candidates through LinkedIn, networks, referrals, and creative outreach strategies
- Screen candidates for experience and alignment with Tin Can's mission and values
- Coordinate and manage interview loops, feedback collection, and candidate communication
- Ensure a high-quality, inclusive, and timely candidate experience from first touch to offer
- Support offer development, closing conversations, and handoff to onboarding
- Track recruiting metrics and maintain accurate records in our ATS (Ashby)
- Continuously improve recruiting processes, templates, and sourcing strategies as we scale
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience as a recruiter, including full-cycle ownership
- Experience recruiting in startup or high-growth environments
- Strong sourcing skills and comfort engaging passive candidates
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple roles and priorities without sacrificing quality
- Collaborative, self-directed, and comfortable operating with limited structure
- Experience working as a contractor or in fractional recruiting roles is a plus
If you're excited about building teams, love partnering with founders and hiring managers, and want to help shape the future of a growing startup, we'd love to hear from you.
