Overview:
The Building Maintenance Associate plays a crucial role in maintaining a neat, clean, safe, and organized environment at the Church and Rectory. This position supports the administration and the school by ensuring that all buildings are well-maintained and in good repair. St Thomas Aquinas is looking for a friendly, motivated, and reliable staff member; with the ability to troubleshoot and find solutions quickly to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, carpenter, paint and HVAC repairs
- Conduct regular inspections of the building and its systems to identify any issues or potential problems
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and tenants
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions using schematics and technical manuals
- Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track work orders, inventory, and maintenance history
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities performed
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols - Groundskeeping: Maintain the Church and rectory grounds as needed for general upkeep (internal & external) - Event Setup: Assist with the setup and cleanup for events -Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of school-owned vehicles, as needed
Qualifications:
Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field
- Strong electrical and plumbing knowledge and ability to troubleshoot and repair various systems
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with staff, tenants, and contractors
- Basic carpenter and paint knowledge for troubleshooting and repairs
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Bilingual (Eng-Spa) is a plus
Experience: -Minimum three years' experience in building maintenance, custodial work, or related fields is required
Additional-Requirements: -Fingerprinting: Candidates must undergo fingerprinting as part of the background check process -Driving Record: A valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation; in addition to an MVR. Mileage log required when driving for entity. -Drug Testing: Candidates may be subject to random drug testing to ensure a safe working environment
