We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Miami, Florida. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating forklifts safely and efficiently to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your role is crucial in maintaining the flow of goods within our warehouse, ensuring timely loading and unloading of trucks, and supporting overall warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe forklift operation, a strong understanding of warehouse procedures, and a commitment to adhering to all safety regulations. You will work closely with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up) to move pallets, raw materials, and finished goods.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper securing of cargo.
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections of forklifts to ensure they are in good working order.
- Identify and report any damaged goods or equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area, ensuring clear pathways for movement.
- Assist with inventory counts and stocktaking as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of required PPE.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals.
- Understand and follow directions for efficient movement of materials within the warehouse.
- Contribute to a culture of safety and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience as a forklift operator (minimum 2 years preferred).
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including significant Lifting, pushing, and pulling (up to 50 lbs).
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory management systems is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours and shifts as required.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Must wear appropriate PPE, including safety shoes and high-visibility clothing.
