Join our dynamic logistics team in Cincinnati, Ohio, as a Receiving Clerk! We are looking for a meticulous and efficient individual to manage the inbound flow of goods into our distribution center. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for accepting deliveries, verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders, inspecting goods for damage, and accurately documenting all received items. This role is critical for maintaining inventory integrity and ensuring smooth operations.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks using appropriate equipment (e.g., pallet jacks).
- Verify the quantity and quality of received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect deliveries for any damage or discrepancies and report them immediately.
- Accurately record all received items into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Stage received goods for put-away by other warehouse personnel.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal departments regarding inbound shipments.
- Assist with other logistics duties as assigned, which may include some Lifting.
- Ensure the timely and accurate flow of goods into the facility.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, or logistics role is preferred.
- Familiarity with using pallet jacks and other basic material handling equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret purchase orders and packing slips.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording information.
- Basic computer skills for data entry into WMS.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow safety protocols, including wearing PPE.
- Physical capability for tasks involving moderate Lifting (up to 40 lbs) and standing for extended periods.
