We are looking for a skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team in Durham, North Carolina. In this critical role, you will be responsible for operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods within the facility is paramount. You will play a vital part in our logistics chain, supporting receiving, warehousing, and shipping operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe forklift operation, a strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment. Certification is a must, and a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace, including the proper use of PPE, is non-negotiable. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other powered industrial equipment safely and efficiently to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload products from trucks and trailers.
- Stack and retrieve products from warehouse racking systems.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklifts and other equipment, reporting any issues or defects immediately.
- Maintain accurate records of materials moved and inventory levels.
- Assist with receiving and shipping operations as needed.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE and safe operating practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring clear pathways for movement.
- Participate in inventory counts and stocktaking activities.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment as trained and instructed.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA compliant).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Proven knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and protocols.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all PPE requirements.
