Job Description

The Accounting Systems Analyst is responsible for analyzing, implementing and maintaining accounting systems and software applications. This role involves evaluating existing systems, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing enhancements or new software solutions. The Accounting Systems Analyst also provides training and support to end-users, troubleshoots issues, and ensures compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Strong analytical skills, technical proficiency, and knowledge of accounting principles are essential for success in this role.

Duties & Responsibilities (Essential functions are identified in bold and italicized text below.)

  • Must work safely at all times.

  • Provide functional and technical support to the Accounting, Finance and Audit groups on the Perceptive AP processing system and related accounting systems, including Oracle EBS and Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012.

  • Provide functional and technical support to the company on other enterprise applications, including Sharepoint, Control-M, Microsoft SSRS and SSIS.

  • Gather requirements and provide gap analysis for system enhancements and new reports; work with senior technical staff to implement solutions.

  • Proactively manage activities to deliver required work on time.

  • Produce documentation that accurately and thoroughly depicts the software requirements and related business processes.

  • Expeditiously troubleshoot application production issues and resolve the issues without causing additional problems.

  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.

  • Complete project responsibilities on time at required quality level. Performance will be measured by timely completion, quality and quantity of work delivered. All schedule dates should be met except for approved date changes by appropriate manager.

  • Perform systems analysis and functional testing as needed.

  • Perform administrative duties in the systems, including adding and removing users, managing security and scheduling interfaces and reports.

  • Support all current applications, as well as participate in new application initiatives to replace older applications.

  • Provide timely support of operational processes as needed. Performance will be measured by the ability to independently support operations and minimize business disruptions.

  • Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines.

  • Regular attendance at the worksite is required.

Position Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly find and repair issues in an AP processing system. This requires understanding both the functional (front end) and technical architecture of the system thoroughly.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform system administration functions on an AP processing system, including updating XML configuration files, bringing up and down services, servers and applications, understanding payables invoice workflow processes and having knowledge of OCR processing systems.

  • Strong ability to do root cause analysis in troubleshooting issues in a complex, workflow driven system.

  • Excellent communication skills, strong professional work ethic, and a team player mentality.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with little supervision; highly self-motivated with the ability to produce creative solutions.

  • Willingness to learn new technologies and grow your technical and functional skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite is required.

  • Ability to quickly master new technologies as needed.

  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research into systems and business process issues as required.

  • Highly self-motivated and directed.

  • Must have a keen attention to detail.

  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Experience/Education

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field, or equivalent experience is required.

  • 3+ years of experience implementing, maintaining and supporting accounting systems. Experience with Perceptive AP or other AP processing system is required.

  • 3+ years of experience implementing, maintaining and supporting enterprise systems such as a corporate intranet. Experience with Sharepoint is a big plus.

  • Experience supporting BI solutions such as Microsoft SSRS, BI360, Power BI or Oracle HFM is required.

  • Exposure to business operations related to upstream and mid-stream energy sectors is required.

  • Experience in the oil & gas energy sector is required.

Travel

Up to 10% travel required.  Requires the ability to travel to field locations where environment may vary significantly.
