Summary Locally owned small radiology practice looking for a sharp Linux Systems Administrator to join our IT team. This is a hybrid job, requiring the person to be in the Tucson area.
You will be a critical contributor, ensuring the continuity of patient care and research operations by maintaining, configuring, and troubleshooting essential Linux systems within a clinical environment. Key Responsibilities
* Administer and maintain our production, test, and development Linux servers (primarily Rocky and Ubuntu). * Ensure high availability and reliability of critical services, including EMR/EHR systems, imaging archives (PACS), DB, and cloud architecture. * Implement and manage security best practices, including regular patching, vulnerability management, and access control within a highly regulated environment (HIPAA, HITECH). * Develop and maintain automation scripts (Bash, Python) for system management and deployment. * Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex issues across the hardware, operating system, and application layers. * Participate in an on-call rotation and assist with planned system maintenance events. * Manage and maintain virtual machine environments, including Hypervisors such as SCALE and PRROXMOX. * Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. * Proactively collaborate with the IT team to identify and resolve systemic issues. * Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
Qualifications Required
* Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Linux System Administrator. * Strong proficiency in administering RHEL/CentOS and Rocky * Familiarity with network protocols and services (DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S, SMTP, NFS, SMB). * Must be locally based in Tucson and able to commute to the office on a hybrid schedule. * Strong command of virtualization technologies and hypervisor management.
Preferred
* Experience working in a healthcare or other highly regulated environment. * Knowledge of healthcare-specific standards and systems (e.g., HL7, DICOM, PACS, EMR/EHR). * Certifications such as Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or similar. * Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). * Experience with cloud platforms (GCP).
