Electrical Systems & Harness Design Engineer Tucson, AZ - Full Time
Productive Resources (www.productiveresources.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team for our customer's facility in Tucson, AZ. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will be an experienced Electrical Systems & Harness Design Engineer to support the development and integration of sensors and related electrical components on industrial equipment. This role will focus on both new product development and retrofit kits for existing machines. The position is long-term and evergreen, offering the opportunity to play a key role in expanding and sustaining electrical system capabilities across multiple programs.
The immediate need is to support electrical systems and wiring harness development within the Tucson-based electrical engineering team. Over time, this role will also collaborate with broader teams supporting builds at other manufacturing locations. This is a hands-on, high-impact role suited for someone with deep experience in routed electrical systems for mobile or industrial equipment.
This is a full-time position that is indefinite in duration with the opportunity of professional growth, and additional opportunities within our organization.
Duties:
* Design and develop electrical systems and wiring harnesses for new equipment programs and retrofit kits. * Support integration of sensors and electronic components into existing and new machine platforms. * Develop routed electrical solutions that meet functional, environmental, and manufacturing requirements. * Collaborate closely with mechanical, systems, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust designs. * Gather and clarify technical requirements from stakeholders and translate them into executable work packages. * Serve as the onsite technical lead, coordinating execution and distributing work to an offshore engineering team. * Review and validate designs, drawings, and documentation produced by offshore resources. * Support build, test, and validation activities as needed. * Ensure designs comply with applicable standards and best practices.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. * Proven experience designing electrical systems and wiring harnesses for industrial or mobile equipment. * Experience supporting both new product development and retrofit programs. * Strong understanding of routed systems, sensors, and electrical integration on heavy equipment. * Ability to work onsite in Tucson and collaborate across distributed teams. * Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate work across multiple locations.
Preferred:
* Experience supporting high-volume or complex equipment programs. * Prior exposure to global engineering teams and offshore delivery models. * Familiarity with electrical CAD tools and harness design best practices.
