This position works collaboratively with other engineers and teams to maintain high performance and optimize workflows to support our game teams./ppThis role is a full-time, on-site position based five days a week at our Downtown Vancouver studio./ppIn this role, you can expect to:/pulliLead software design, development, and maintenance, ensuring code quality and adherence to best practices./liliProvide technical guidance, mentorship, and code reviews to team members./liliArchitect solutions for complex technical challenges and make informed technology decisions./liliCollaborate with cross-functional teams and departments, facilitating effective communication./liliEnsure system performance, scalability, and security, implementing advanced practices./liliResolve critical software issues and drive documentation for knowledge sharing./liliStay updated with industry trends, contribute to project planning, and manage timelines./liliAct as a technology subject matter expert and drive process improvement and innovation./liliProvide mentorship and knowledge sharing as needed, contributing to team growth./li/ulpBackend:/pulliLeading the design and architecture of backend systems, with a focus on scalability, performance, and security./liliImplementing complex server-side logic, including APIs, databases, authentication systems, and data processing pipelines./liliTaking a leadership role in the development of RESTful APIs, UI interfaces, and data visualization tools./liliCollaborating with game designers to deeply understand LiveOps tools and game feature requirements./liliProviding expert technical insights and feasibility assessments in design discussions./liliLeading the implementation of LiveOps tools and features, including in-game events, content updates, player rewards, and analytics systems./liliLeading the integration of backend systems with the game client to support functionality./li/ulpTo be successful in this role, your background includes:/pulliBachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience./lili5+ years in software engineering with back-end/server-side technologies./liliAdvanced technical experience in Node.js or TypeScript./liliStrong database experience (any RDBMS, preferably MongoDB)./liliHave worked on a RESTful API system./liliExperience in working in a mixed team environment of engineers and non-engineering professionals./liliGood experience working with source control./liliAble to effectively communicate and translate between general ideas and technical practices./liliExperience dealing with scalability and performance optimization./liliExperience in Unity3D, PostgreSQL, and Redis./liliPractical knowledge of the iOS and Android platforms./liliExperience in professional game production./liliExperience working with Google Cloud, AWS or Azure./li/ulpOur success is due to the hard work of our people.
