About
The medical assistant (MA) works as a member of the multi-disciplinary integrated patient care team performing delegated clinical and administrative duties consistent with the MA’s education, training and demonstrated competency.

*Duties/Responsibilities:*
* Preparing for patient visits including cleaning and preparing rooms, preparing charts, and huddling with your care team.
* Providing the clinical aspect of patient intake. This includes documenting vital signs, doing basic patient intake, basic screenings such as vision, hearing, lead and Hgb capillary draws, and ensuring all patient questionnaires are completed.
* Assisting the provider with office procedures, including suturing, splinting, wound debridement, bladder catheterization etc.
* Managing patient flow in clinic, communicating with family advocates, behavioral health counselor and the providers to assure that patient care is timely, and that the provider is efficient.
* Education and administering immunizations.
* Collecting and running in-house labs such as rapid Flu/RSV/Strep/Covid 19, rapid mono, urinalysis, and urine HCG’s
* Phlebotomy and ensuring specimens are prepared and labeled correctly for lab pick-up and processing.
* Sorting and filing designated provider’s incoming faxes and form requests and distributing to the provider appropriately.
* Traveling to satellite clinics on specific days as assigned.
* Providing coverage for other nursing staff and departments as needed.
* Assisting the Front desk/Family Advocates and Medical Records/Referrals with their duties as needed.
* Performing other job-related duties as assigned.
* Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

*Education and Experience:*
· High School Diploma or equivalent required.
· Experience as a Medical Assistant in a Primary care office required.
· Completion of a medical assistant training program is strongly preferred.
· Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant strongly preferred.
*Physical Requirements:*
· Prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending, and reaching.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Pay: From $17.75 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
