Sterilizer Technician

Location: Monroe, NC - Department: Engineering

Evaluator: Service Manager - Reports To: Refurbishing Manager, Service Manager

Main Purpose: To repair and refurbish medical sterilizers and boilers.

Duties and Responsibilities: (in order of importance)

• Ready to work at 8:30 am.

• Wears safety goggles, masks and gloves as needed.

• Keeps work area clean and organized.

• Inspects equipment while following procedures for each model.

• Accurately identifies all mechanical failures with the unit.

• Accurately troubleshoots electrical and mechanical failures to the correct component.

• Repairs devices to meet OEM original specifications using accepted technical techniques.

• Reads and understands service manuals.

• Contacts equipment manufacturer for technical support.

• Professionally communicates with customers to solve their technical issues.

• Coordinates corrective actions to repair device failures in the field.

• Accurately identifies required parts.

• Sources components from the original component manufacture.

• Keeps notes of technical tips about products they worked on.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: (in order of importance)\

• Skilled with basic hand tools

• Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems.

• Knowledge of pressure vessels

• Skilled with the operation of multi-meters.

• Skilled with machine shop equipment such as grinders, drill presses, hydraulic lift and presses.

• Skilled with specialized hand tools.

• Ability to lift 75 lbs.

Credentials and Experience:

• High school diploma and

• Certificate in boiler repair, HVAC or plumbing

• 3 years experience

Special Requirements: (established by evaluator)

• National travel to customer sites for installations.

• Must be willing to work overtime.
