About
Under the direction of the Director of Sales and Museum Services, the incumbent manages the daily activities of the Museum Services Department including the functions Public Programs and Admissions. Builds and maintains relationships with new, current and prospective museum members and group customers. Works with schools, universities, and community organizations to expand the reach of cultural programs, tours and enrichment workshops. Enhance visitor engagement, increase participation, and expand audience base. Manages the Public Program tours, enrichment programs, workshops, pricing, booking procedures and group sales reservations utilizing the group sales management system. Focuses on increasing memberships and group sales, particularly from school groups, universities, businesses, and corporate events. Coordinates logistics, customizes group packages, and develops long-term relationships with group coordinators. Develop and manage membership programs to increase value, meet museum membership targets and strengthens the museums community and cultural presence. The Museum Services Manager provides administrative support for Public Programs and Museum Services teams including but not limited to scheduling, training and supervision. Responsibilities include, making sure that the end of the day financials are accurate and that any variances in cash are accounted for and documented appropriately.
Bachelor's degree required in Business, Marketing, Arts Management, Education, or a related field required and a minimum of four (4) years' experience working with a non-profit organization or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in non-profit operations and management; sales or program management role, with specific experience in group sales, public programs, or admissions within a museum or cultural institution. Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and Power Point software with database management experience. A writing sample will need to be provided. Must be personable, possess excellent customer service and communication skills; highly organized; displays attention to detail and takes initiative in problem solving. Experience producing reports and analysis from a database.
