Hydrovac Operator

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Hydrovac Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating hydrovac trucks to safely excavate and expose underground utilities. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work effectively on construction sites. The Hydrovac Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring that excavation tasks are completed efficiently and safely.

Duties

• Operate hydrovac trucks and related heavy equipment as needed.
• Conduct excavation tasks by using high-pressure water to dig and vacuum soil while ensuring the integrity of underground utilities.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Collaborate with team members on construction sites to coordinate excavation projects effectively.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
• Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise.
• Drive commercial vehicles as required to transport equipment and materials to job sites.

Requirements

• Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly with hydrovac trucks.
• Familiarity with Vac Truck operation & maintenance is required.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance on equipment.
• Valid commercial driving license (CDL) is required.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments typical of construction sites.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices while performing excavation tasks.
• Previous experience in construction or utility work is an asset but not mandatory.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $37.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week

• Heavy equipment operation: 2 years (Preferred)
• Hydro-Vac Excavation: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• CDL A (Required)
