Associate Attorney

Grover Lewis Johnson is seeking an
Associate Attorney
to assist with the defense of automobile insurance matters, including Michigan No-Fault and third-party bodily injury claims. This position is available in our
Grandville and Troy, Michigan offices
, with
on-site and hybrid work arrangements
depending on experience and practice needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to gain hands-on litigation experience, work directly with insurance clients, and develop long-term career growth within a well-established Michigan defense firm.

About the Role:

The associate attorney will work closely with experienced partners and senior attorneys defending auto insurance carriers in matters including PIP, UM/UIM, and bodily injury litigation. Responsibilities include:

• Drafting pleadings, discovery responses, and dispositive motions
• Conducting and defending depositions
• Appearing in Michigan district and circuit courts
• Evaluating claims and providing litigation strategy recommendations to clients
• Managing a litigation caseload with appropriate supervision and mentorship

Qualifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan (or pending admission)
• 0–5 years of litigation experience preferred (insurance defense or civil litigation a plus)
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
• Professional and client-focused demeanor
