About
Our Columbus, Ohio logistics center is seeking a diligent Material Handler! This role is essential for the smooth operation of our warehouse, focusing on the safe and efficient movement of goods. You will be responsible for receiving, stocking, and transporting materials throughout the facility. A strong commitment to safety, organization, and teamwork is crucial for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials and shipments.
- Accurately stock materials in designated warehouse locations using appropriate equipment.
- Transport materials to and from various departments within the facility.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with inventory control activities, including cycle counts and stock verification.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the correct use of PPE.
- Load finished goods onto trucks for shipment, ensuring proper securement.
- Support other warehouse functions as directed to ensure efficient logistics.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler, Warehouse Worker, or in a similar role.
- Experience operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and material handling best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and accident-free workplace.
- Must be willing to wear required PPE.
- Understanding of general logistics principles.
