We are hiring a dedicated Material Handler to join our logistics team in Jacksonville, Florida. In this essential role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our distribution center. Your contributions will ensure the smooth operation of our warehouse, from receiving incoming goods to preparing outgoing shipments. We foster a culture of safety, providing comprehensive training and mandating the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to protect our valued team members. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks, containers, and other vehicles.
- Transport materials to and from various locations within the warehouse using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
- Operate forklifts and other machinery as needed, once properly trained and certified.
- Scan and log inventory movements accurately.
- Assist with receiving and stocking incoming inventory.
- Prepare materials for shipment, ensuring proper packaging and labeling.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
- Perform regular equipment checks and report any maintenance needs.
- Support other warehouse operations as directed by supervisors to ensure efficient logistics flow.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse or logistics role is preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for long periods.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
- Commitment to safety protocols and the correct use of PPE.
