Position Description
Develops innovative technical solutions to address business problems and executes the implementation plan. Designs applications or subsystems on major projects involving multiple platforms and supports a range of divisional initiatives. Develops software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation for the project. Performs post-installation validation to identify and resolve technical problems. Prepares pipelines for deployment into the Cloud using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools GIT, Stash, Jenkins Core, and Terraform. Defines architecture and design patterns for Cloud-enabled applications using Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Technology. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development, experts, and management. Primary Responsibilities
Participates in architecture design teams. Defines and implements application-level architecture. Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division. Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans. Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables. Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems. Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms. Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget. Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects. Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects. Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues. Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives. Advises senior management on technical strategy. Mentors junior team members. Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives. Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts. Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal, Data Engineer (or closely related occupation) developing data solutions with data lakes to support reporting and analytical needs in a financial services environment. Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal, Data Engineer (or closely related occupation) developing data solutions with data lakes to support reporting and analytical needs in a financial services environment. Skills and Knowledge
Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") developing cloud native software applications for Reltio, to load data from multiple source systems, using Python; and implementing match and merger rules, defining data stewardship roles, and enhancing data quality through automated workflows. DE designing database features and migrating existing financial applications to the Cloud platform by applying transactional database concepts for real time processing, using Cockroach database; modeling data to solve complex data relationship in financial applications, using Neo4J; and developing Informatic workflows, stored procedures, and Snaplogic ETL for transformation. DE developing Python-based data ingestion application to load structured data from relational databases into a Cloud SaaS based Data Lake Platform (Snowflake), using AWS, Power BI, and Control-M. DE developing CI/CD pipelines in a hybrid on-prem and Cloud environment, using Jenkins Core, Github, Udeploy, and Terraform. Salary: $149,350.00 to $166,000.00/year.
