DESCRIPTION:
The Minnesota Judicial Branch (MJB) is pleased to announce two openings for a Cyber Security Judicial Intern Professional. The location for these positions is St. Paul Minnesota. This summer internship program is designated to give qualified interns meaningful hands-on experience working in multiple areas of a Cyber Security Program with a seasoned cyber security team. This is a flexible internship program that offers interesting challenges, valuable experience, and an opportunity to experience working for state government.
EXAMPLES OF JOB DUTIES : Learn, understand, and apply security policies, standards, and processes to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of MJB information systems, networks, and data. Participate in active situations to gain substantial experience in a specialized domain within information security, such as identity and access management, responding to cybersecurity incidents, engineering cybersecurity systems, cyber security risk management and third-party risk management Under direct supervision, assist with on-going efforts/daily tasks within the Cyber Security Operations Center, including: End Point Detection and Response Vulnerability Management Security Configuration Assessment Security Information and Event Management Process Automation Data Loss Prevention Web Application Scanning Score and update risk assessments to determine risk to the organization Participate in the finalization of the risk management plan Identity and Access Management Web Application Firewall
Assist with the implementation, configuration and deployment of a variety cyber security processes and tools. Review, research and answer service desk tickets. TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS :
Below are the past experiences that will enable success in the role. For education requirements listed, the equivalent number of years of related experience may serve as a substitute.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current college student working towards a degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, or a recipient of CyberCorps Scholarship for Service grant. Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of information security fundamentals and current security threats, techniques, and landscape including risk management. Understanding of cybersecurity/information security policy and guidance including CJIS and NIST. Ability to script and run processes for cyber security tools. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to deal with complex concepts and tasks. Excellent research skills. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide range of technical and business partners regarding complex networks and technology, and ability to translate information into terms understandable to non-technical employees. Ability to quickly learn and understand a host of cyber security tools and processes. Strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on customer service, conflict management, and teamwork. Ability to change directions quickly and effectively prioritize tasks. Ability to plan, organize, and perform work within deadlines with minimal supervision. SALARY:
The expected starting salary range for external candidates is $17.52 - $20.58 per hour. The full salary range for this position is $17.52 -$23.63 per hour. Pay will be determined based on qualifications and experience. This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for State of MN employee benefits.

Position Logistics:
Work will be completed during normal business hours, hybrid, based out of St. Paul, MN. Positions are full-time and are classified as Judicial Intern Professional. Position duration: Internships will begin after the school year ends and will run for 90 days.
