Systems Administrator

As a member of our Information Technology team, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining, managing, and securing our IT environment. You will ensure the stability and efficiency of the systems that support our scientific applications and business operations. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining operational excellence, minimizing downtime, and supporting the daily technical needs of our growing organization.

What you'll do:
Administer and maintain a diverse fleet of endpoints and servers (macOS, Windows, and Linux), including provisioning, patching, and configuration management
Oversee user identity lifecycle management, access controls, and permissions across directory services and SSO platforms (e.g., Active Directory, Okta, LDAP)
Respond to and resolve Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support escalations regarding desktop, server, network, and application issues
Collaborate with infrastructure engineers to assist in the deployment of new systems, cloud resources, and upgrades to existing virtualized environments]
Oversee system backups and disaster recovery operations, and verify data integrity on a regular schedule
Monitor system performance and capacity to proactively identify and address potential bottlenecks before they impact end-users
Enforce security policies and procedures, ensuring endpoints and systems are compliant with industry standards and internal security protocols
Manage hardware and software assets, including procurement, inventory tracking, and license compliance audits
Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and troubleshooting guides
What you'll need:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience in a professional setting)
At least two years of experience in systems administration, IT operations, or a senior desktop support role
Proven experience administering mixed-OS environments, with specific proficiency in Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) and Windows Server
Robust hands-on experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) and patch management tools (Intune, Jamf, Automox, FleetDM, etc.)
Proficiency in scripting and automation (Shell, Python, or PowerShell)
Basic knowledge of A/V conferencing hardware and troubleshooting
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPN, TCP/IP) and IT security best practices

Estimated base salary range: $70,000 - $105,000. The actual compensation package is dependent on a number of factors, including, for example, experience, education, degrees held, market data, and business needs.
