The office for this position is located at the Harry S. Truman State Office Building, 301 W High Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101. This role is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD), supporting Business Systems Development (BSD). We are seeking a skilled Software Developer with experience in C# and proprietary systems to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of mission-critical applications. This role involves working with a contracted third-party platform to modify existing code, generate new modules, and ensure high levels of accuracy and stability in deliverables. Strong communication and collaboration with the Department of Revenue (DOR), internal ITSD leadership, and vendors is essential. Responsibilities
Write, debug, and maintain code using standard C# practices Leverage a third-party proprietary system to generate code and modify existing products Conduct thorough testing to validate program changes and ensure stability Collaborate daily with DOR and vendor representatives, as well as ITSD supervisors, to manage tasks and resolve issues Analyze business needs and technical requirements to provide efficient coding solutions Document changes and updates to ensure traceability and compliance with development standards Proven experience in C# development, including debugging and code optimization Familiarity with third-party or proprietary software systems Experience in drivers education licensing or motor vehicle-related systems is strongly preferred Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Prior work with contracted systems, low-code platforms, or system integrators is a plus Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. Knowledge of the core programming language used in the assigned area Knowledge of computer logic statements and their applications Ability to learn and apply concepts Ability to perform basic mathematics Ability to provide logical and innovative ideas, and think critically to resolve issues Ability to communicate with staff, management, and agency personnel Knowledge of the salary structure, pay differentials, and related compensation considerations as described in the role This position is multi-allocated and may be filled at either the Associate Applications Developer or Applications Developer classification; click for more information.
