Location: Glasgow – Govan and Scotstoun (On-site, must attend a recruitment day in Glasgow)
Salary: £38,662.00 (plus a potential additional shift allowance of 33%)
What You'll Be DoingAs a Pipefitter, you will play a crucial role in our projects, ensuring the efficient operation of piping installations while upholding the highest standards of safety and quality. Your responsibilities will include:
- Fabricating and installing pipework systems in various materials, including copper, cuni, carbon steel, and stainless steel.
- Utilizing a range of hand tools and mechanical equipment to cut, bend, and weld pipes.
- Installing utilities aboard ships, such as sinks, showers, and toilets.
- Assembling fittings, valves, and related components according to technical drawings and specifications.
- Collaborating with other trades to ensure timely and accurate project completion.
- Adhering to safety regulations and company procedures at all times.
- Maintaining accurate records of work carried out.
Essential:
- Modern Apprenticeship certificate/Trade Papers (required upon application) and relevant qualifications (e.g., SVQ3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
- Current knowledge and experience in pipe manufacture, installation, and associated equipment.
- Strong understanding of pipefitting techniques, tools, and safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Clear understanding of SHE, COSHH, and Risk Assessments.
- Proven experience as a Pipefitter or in a similar role within an industrial or commercial environment.
Desirable:
- Marine Pipefitting experience.
- Experience in industrial or commercial settings.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Experience in TIG Pipe Welding.
