Xylem/Evoqua Is Hiring – Thomasville, NC
Production Supervisor | Third Shift (7:30 PM – 6:00 AM) - Technical strong Production Supervisor to lead third-shift manufacturing operations producing large-scale wastewater treatment equipment in carbon and stainless steel .
This role is accountable for:
Executing production schedules while optimizing labor, equipment, and throughput
Driving Lean Manufacturing fundamentals (standard work, 5S, waste elimination, problem solving)
Managing WIP, inventory accuracy, and material flow to support on-time delivery
Enforcing quality systems, safety standards, and process discipline on the shop floor
Leading teams through data-driven decision making, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement
This is a hands-on leadership role for a supervisor who understands fabrication and assembly environments and can translate lean principles into measurable operational results—especially on off-shift operations.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesLean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement
- Implement lean manufacturing initiatives to improve workflow and reduce waste.
- Identify and execute process improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure material availability and minimize downtime.
Leadership & Operations
- Supervise and coordinate a team of approximately 25 direct reports.
- Manage daily operations to meet production schedules and quality standards.
- Conduct shift meetings and communicate updates to management and team members.
- Ensure equipment and facility maintenance to support continuous production.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce safety protocols and promote a culture of safety and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and company safety standards.
Quality Control
- Maintain and enforce quality control measures.
- Conduct inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.
Team Development
- Provide coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment.
- Resolve conflicts constructively and support team adaptability.
Administrative & Strategic
- Manage departmental budget and control operational expenses.
- Stay informed on industry trends and integrate best practices.
- Support decision-making aligned with organizational goals.
Required:
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Solid understanding of inventory management and lean manufacturing.
- Ability to make informed decisions and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred:
- Experience with SAP and Workday systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
