About
Responsibilities
Customer care: ensure all contractual commitments are honoured; if there is any failure, advise the site security operations manager first. Log complaints in accordance with the quality system and remedy them in a timely and effective manner; log as required on the assignment.
Training and development: monitor security officersβ performance in conjunction with the security site manager, conduct annual appraisals in line with company policy, and encourage personal development. Liaise with the security manager/operations manager to ensure all contractual training requirements are met and certificates are renewed within the correct timeframe. Ensure all security officers are aware of the latest training initiatives and have opportunities for development. Ensure the team is continually trained to meet leading industry practices.
Managerial/work performance: lead in implementing customer corporate policies and codes of practice; manage security and emergency incidents; ensure correct operation of security systems and procedures; take ownership of the security operation for the customer; assess risks and take appropriate measures; manage on-site staff to maintain high-standard service delivery and client satisfaction; regularly inspect administrative, health and safety, and quality procedures and endorse them; support welfare needs and assist in the vetting process to ensure compliance with BS7858; maintain detailed notes of disciplinary/capability actions with referral to the operations manager.
Communication: support the organisation as required by the operations manager; provide assurance of a professional and high-quality security operation; develop and manage security-related projects with key customer management; liaise with the operations manager about changing contract requirements; provide site activity information relevant to team performance, ongoing issues and future development opportunities.
Quality: maintain accurate and up-to-date assignment instructions for the site to ensure understanding and compliance; all instructions must be signed as read and understood; maintain high personal and professional standards as a Mitie employee and adopt a total quality approach to work, colleagues, and clients.
Qualifications & Skills
High level of integrity, trustworthy and reliable.
SIA Security Licence (front-line licence in Security Guarding or Door Supervision and CCTV PSS SIA Licence; other required courses as contractually specified).
Self-motivated and proactive; able to work on initiative and seek help when needed.
Effective decision-maker with the ability to act and deliver to targets.
Team leadership, motivational and engagement skills; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to manage stressful situations and work under pressure; IT literate and proficient in written and oral communication.
Discipline and professional attitude; able to work within established procedures and contribute to improvements; able to listen and demonstrate creative thinking.
Understanding of Health and Safety at Work Act, relevant Criminal, Civil Law, and Police and Criminal Evidence.
Ability to manage resources in line with targets.
Supervisory/leadership skills and ability to influence, motivate and liaise with others.
Experience in security operations and incident management.
