Quality Engineer – Plant Operations
role is ideal for an early-career quality professional who thrives on the manufacturing floor and enjoys solving real-time production challenges. You'll work side-by-side with production teams to ensure high-quality chiller manufacturing, drive continuous improvement, and help deliver reliable products used in high-demand data center applications.

Projects You'll Work On

  • Supporting the manufacturing of large-scale chillers used in data center environments
  • Investigating production non-conformances and leading root cause and corrective action efforts
  • Improving shop-floor quality processes to reduce defects and variation
  • Supporting new product introductions by validating quality requirements
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives using data, SPC, and Six Sigma tools

What You'll Do

  • Monitor daily manufacturing operations to ensure products meet defined quality standards and specifications
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities for internal defects and customer quality concerns
  • Partner with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to improve product quality and process efficiency
  • Develop and maintain quality control plans, inspection methods, and testing protocols
  • Conduct process audits to proactively identify quality risks and improvement opportunities
  • Support new product launches by ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory requirements
  • Train production personnel on quality tools, defect prevention, and problem-solving methodologies
  • Apply statistical analysis tools (SPC, Six Sigma, data trending) to drive measurable improvements
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to quality metrics, corrective actions, and audit findings
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with ISO, ASHRAE, and applicable industry standards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of plant operations

What Experience You Should Bring

  • 1+ year of experience in a quality engineering role within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong co-op or internship experience in manufacturing will also be considered
  • Exposure to HVAC, refrigeration, industrial equipment, or similar manufacturing environments preferred
  • Working knowledge of quality tools and methodologies such as 8D, FMEA, RCCA, and Six Sigma
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and ISO 9001 standards
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and inspection criteria
  • Hands-on familiarity with manufacturing processes such as welding, brazing, mechanical assembly, and testing
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Excel, Minitab, or similar software
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across functions
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, on-the-floor production environment

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline
