Restaurant Host/Hostess

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Restaurant Host/Host to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will manage reservations, greet guests, coordinate seating arrangements, and clean tables to ensure a smooth dining experience. This role is essential in providing exceptional guest services and supporting the overall operations of our restaurant. Prior host/host experience, strong communication skills, and hospitality knowledge are highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements to optimize flow and guest satisfaction
• Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using POS systems such as Toast and OpenTable
• Provide accurate wait times and communicate effectively with guests regarding their seating status
• Answer phone inquiries professionally, providing information about the restaurant and reservation policies
• Maintain a clean and organized host station, ensuring a welcoming environment at all times
• Collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure seamless service delivery
• Handle guest concerns or special requests with professionalism and courtesy
• Support guest relations by offering assistance with menu selections or special accommodations when needed
• Making sure tables are clean and set up before seating the guests

Qualifications

• Previous host/host experience preferred; food service or restaurant experience is a plus
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally
• Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and guest relations
• Familiarity with POS systems such as OpenTable and Toast is desirable
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Hospitality background or hotel experience is advantageous but not required
• Professional appearance and friendly demeanor essential for creating a positive guest experience

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $11.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
