Join our growing logistics team in Austin, Texas, as a Shipping Clerk! We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to manage the preparation and dispatch of outgoing shipments. Your responsibilities will include verifying order details, preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring all packages are correctly labeled and staged for pickup. This role is crucial for maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of our shipping operations. You will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring strong communication skills and a commitment to adhering to all safety regulations. Experience in a warehouse setting and familiarity with shipping software are advantageous. This is a key role in our logistics chain.
Responsibilities:
- Verify shipping orders against product details and quantities.
- Generate and print shipping labels, bills of lading, and other required documentation.
- Schedule pickups with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, LTL).
- Ensure all outgoing shipments are correctly packaged, labeled, and staged.
- Communicate with internal departments (e.g., warehouse, customer service) regarding shipment status.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper handling of materials and the use of PPE.
- Assist in resolving shipping discrepancies or issues.
- Manage inventory of shipping supplies.
- Perform tasks that may involve occasional lifting of boxes up to 30 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using computers and common office software.
- Experience with shipping software (e.g., ShipStation, UPS WorldShip) is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with warehouse and logistics operations.
- Ability to perform occasional lifting.
