About
Our Richmond, Virginia location is looking for a dedicated Material Handler to support our warehouse operations. The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and staging of materials throughout the facility. This role is fundamental to our logistics workflow, ensuring that products are handled correctly from receipt to dispatch. We emphasize a strong safety culture and require all team members to adhere to safety protocols and wear the necessary PPE.
Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading materials from various transportation modes.
- Transporting materials within the warehouse using equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Organizing and arranging materials in designated storage locations.
- Picking and staging materials for production or outbound shipments.
- Performing regular equipment inspections and maintaining equipment in good working order.
- Following all safety guidelines and company procedures for material handling.
- Accurately documenting material movements and inventory changes.
- Collaborating with team members to ensure efficient warehouse operations.
- Wearing required PPE, such as safety shoes, gloves, and high-visibility vests.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is essential.
- Experience operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual labor, up to 70 lbs.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety practices and procedures.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain operations.
- Good physical stamina and dexterity.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to safety and the proper use of PPE is mandatory.
