We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Richmond, Virginia. This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate and efficient intake of goods into our warehouse. You will be responsible for unloading incoming shipments, verifying quantities against purchase orders, inspecting for damages, and preparing items for storage. This position requires strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail to maintain inventory integrity. You'll work closely with our warehouse associates and supervisors to ensure a smooth flow of materials from arrival to put-away. Adherence to all safety protocols and proper use of PPE are paramount. This is an excellent opportunity to grow within the warehousing and logistics industry.
Responsibilities:
- Unload trucks and trailers efficiently and safely.
- Verify received goods against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Inspect shipments for any damages or discrepancies and report them immediately.
- Accurately enter receiving data into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Stage received goods for appropriate put-away or distribution.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Follow all company safety guidelines and procedures, including the correct use of PPE .
- Communicate effectively with vendors, drivers, and internal teams.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment is preferred. Must be able to perform tasks requiring moderate physical exertion, including frequent Lifting (up to 50 lbs). Excellent attention to detail and basic computer skills are required. Strong communication and teamwork abilities are essential. Understanding of inventory control principles is a plus.
