Overview
The Rock in Twain Harte is seeking candidates to join our Back-of-House team as a dishwasher. We currently have a part-time position we are seeking to fill. This position could expand to full-time for the right candidate. While experience is important, personality, mentality, and attitude that can integrate with our core BOH team is a key component in our decision-making process.
About Us
We are an independently owned restaurant serving pub-style food for lunch and dinner service, seven days a week all year long. We are a high-volume kitchen, particularly during our summer season from mid-May to mid-September. We strive to provide an excellent customer experience through unique, consistent and quality food offerings.
Our core Back-of-House team values professionalism, teamwork, respect, and communication. Our kitchen is demanding, particularly during the summer season and the expectations of our core BOH team for new members are high. Expectations include: reliability, attention to detail, efficiency, consistency, cleanliness, strong communication skills, critical thinking skills, a "team-first" mentality, ability to focus in a fast-paced environment, being open to new ideas, being willing to share new ideas, willingness to learn, and mental toughness. Additionally, The Rock of Twain Harte is frequently above the snow line; candidates must be able to get to work in the snow.
Duties
- Wash dishes using a commercial dishwasher, including scrubbing and pre-rinsing by hand
- Clean and wash kitchen equipment
- Stack and store dishes during service
- Maintain a clean dishwashing station for subsequent shifts
- Work with team members to prioritize cleaning order
- Assist with stocking of the line before and during service
- Dispose of trash before and during service
- Break down boxes and other containers
- Back-up line cook tasks as needed
Requirements
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen as a dishwasher is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for effective teamwork in the kitchen.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- A professional approach to all aspects of the job.
- A reliable cell phone to use with our scheduling app.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $ $17.50 per hour
