Essential Functions:
- Provides weekly individual and group clinical supervision to CADC's and candidates.
- Collaborates with the clinical manager in identifying clinical training needs to support professional development of staff.
- Assures that evidence-based practices are taught and implemented and monitored to fidelity.
- Creates individualized developmental plans for each clinician to facilitate mastery of evidence-based practices, adherence to the fidelity of intervention used, and to build clinical skills continually.
- Teaches, coaches and mentors the professional development of each supervisee.
- Provides 1:1 clinical case supervision, as necessary.
- Assures that culturally appropriate services are implemented and maintained.
- Provides drug and alcohol counseling with the OTP setting. This would include problems that manifest themselves in suicide, drug abuse, family problems, child neglect and abuse, school issues, and delinquency.
- Makes referrals to appropriate resources/services including residential treatment programs, medical, and other community resources.
- Makes court appearances and provides testimony consistent with confidentiality obligations when requested by the Tribe.
- Networks with outside agencies such as community corrections, courts, probation officers, Adult and Family Services (AFS), medical facilities, treatment programs, Child and Family Services (CFS), and other possible resources by individuals. Provides written status reports to probation officers, courts, and referents as appropriate.
- Provides Opioid community education services in the community.
- Attends all program or tribal meetings as necessary.
- Coordinates with tribal contract health services and seeks to make the best possible use of outside resources available to patients based on eligibility and need.
- Develops Individual Service and Support Plans, provides treatment, monitors progress and completes chart forms and Individual Services Notes, and Service Completion Summaries.
- Participates in weekly clinical staff meetings and weekly individual supervision.
- Assures that staff meet all requirements for clinical and program standards as prescribed by the state or other governing body.
- Reviews and provides feedback on clinical documentation.
- Oversees professional standards and provides feedback.
- Provides training and supervision in evidence-based practices (EBPs) including measurement-based care, feedback-informed care, and other EBPs per regional guidance.
- In concert with other personnel and physicians, responds to and resolves service, access, quality, and provider concerns/issues related to supervisees
- Authorized to serve both eligible and non-eligible beneficiaries in an outreach capacity both on and off-site.
- Performs a variety of other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Supervisory:
Ensures the hiring, training, promoting, assigning, disciplining and discharging of employees are in accordance with Tribal Law, including without limitation, the Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO).
Supports clinical manager with departmental volume/workload indicators and evaluates/improves utilization and productivity of supervisees
- Manage the addiction counselors and assist clinical manager with supervision duties related to the counseling and peer staff.
Assures staff adherence to all policies and procedures, work, safety and administrative rule, Tribal Law and State Regulations.
Serves as a mentor, as requested, for Tribal career development
Education, Experience, and Licenses:
- Requires an Associate degree in behavioral health. A graduate degree is preferred but not required.
- Requires CADC II or III and a minimum of one (1) supervisory experience, within an OTP setting preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years paid experience providing substance abuse counseling to the addicted population using evidence-based practices.
- OR equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Driving Requirements:
- This position may require driving.
Qualifications, Registrations, and Certifications:
- If licensing in another state, must be eligible for reciprocity in Oregon within twelve (12) months of hire.
- Must have supervisory skills
- Minimum of two (2) years active ongoing recovery, if recovering from chemical dependency.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and other equipment as needed.
- Knowledge of basic office software programs such as Microsoft products is required.
- Maintains continuing Education for Certification, completes up to 40 hours skills training every two (2) years (for re-certification), ensures CPR/First aid card is up to date, and maintains certification and clinical skills.
- Must be familiar with the range of community-based self-help support services.
- Experience with Methasoft charting, and clinical auditing preferred.
- Must be able to utilize strong methods for self-care and management of stress incurred on the job.
- Must be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of counseling techniques.
- Ability to build appropriate, helping relationships with adolescent individuals required.
- Ability to write daily reports and prepare correspondence as required.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients, families or employees of the organization required.
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to Native American culture is required.
Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Continually requires the ability to express or receive detailed information or important instructions through oral communication.
- Continually requires working with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm. Requires repetitive movement of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Often requires walking or moving about to accomplish tasks.
- Requires standing and/or sitting for sustained periods of time, raising objects from a lower to a higher position and/or moving objects horizontally.
- Occasionally requires lifting of up to 40 pounds.
- Due to the nature of the interactions with other employees and the public we serve, employees may be required to provide documentation of, or receive, certain health vaccinations.
- This position is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions which provide protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes, and is occasionally subject to outside environmental conditions.
- May be called upon to serve as a Disaster Reservist during emergencies.
- Local travel is occasionally required. Travel outside of the state is infrequently required.
