Tartine Bakery is growing We're thrilled to announce our upcoming opening in Strawberry Village, Mill Valley, CA., in the 2nd QTR of 2026. We're looking for an experienced General Manager to lead this new location, embody our hospitality values, and help deliver the distinct Tartine experience with familiar comforts presented in a way you've never experienced before, from a warm loaf of bread to a perfectly brewed cup of coffee.

As part of our vibrant and passionate team, you will build, develop, and inspire a team that serves with care and intentionality while maintaining the operational excellence Tartine is known for.

About the Role

We're seeking a versatile and experienced leader who understands every layer of the restaurant business from financial performance and team development to creating genuine guest experiences. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with new restaurant openings, as well as a background in overseeing high-volume restaurant operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of daily operations to achieve excellence in service, quality, and guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure full compliance with all company policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor financial performance, manage cost controls, and drive sales growth.
  • Hire, train, and develop team members, nurturing a positive and engaged workplace culture.
  • Execute new restaurant opening processes, including staffing, training, and operational setup.
  • Maintain impeccable food quality, presentation, and safety standards.
  • Promote cross-department collaboration to support company-wide goals and initiatives.
  • Represent Tartine Bakery through professionalism, warmth, and genuine hospitality.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of General Management Experience in full-service restaurant operations.
  • Proven success managing teams of 20+ in high-volume or premium environments.
  • New restaurant opening experience (required).
  • Strong knowledge of P&L management, cost control, and budgeting.
  • Proficient with POS, scheduling, and with Restaurant 365 inventory management systems.
  • Ability to multitask with composure and lead by example in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to work flexible hours (including weekends and holidays).
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
